Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On December 2, 2010, Dawson Geophysical Company (the “Registrant”) issued a press release
announcing that it had placed an order for 10,000 single-channel OYO GSR units from OYO Geospace.
Delivery of this order is expected to begin in December and be
completed by the end of January 2011. This purchase is in
addition to the 2,000 four channel GSR units complete with three component geophones delivered in
the first quarter of fiscal 2011.
The Registrant announced that its Board of Directors approved a $35,000,000 capital budget for
fiscal 2011 to be used, in part, to purchase the GSR units and, as previously announced, 10 new
AHV-IV PLS364 vibrator energy source units from INOVA Geophysical Equipment Limited. The remainder
of the capital budget is expected to be used to meet necessary capital maintenance requirements
during fiscal 2011.
The press release announcing the purchase is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report.
