Item 8.01 Other Events
On October 21, 2010, Cascade Financial Corporation (the “Company”), issued a press release announcing that it has successfully completed a series of balance sheet restructuring transactions which will immediately put the Company and the Bank in an improved financial position including increased capital ratios and increased net interest margin. The transactions included the restructuring of the Company’s securities portfolio, prepayment and/or modification of the Company’s Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) advances, and the purchase of interest rate caps to hedge against rising rates. A copy of the press release is attached to this current report as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
