Discover Financial Services (“Discover”) announced on September 17, 2010 that it has reached an agreement to acquire The Student Loan Corporation. Discover will discuss the proposed acquisition on its conference call regarding third quarter results on Monday Sept. 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Central time. Interested parties can listen to the conference call via a live audio webcast at http://investorrelations.discoverfinancial.com. Presentation slides on the proposed acquisition will be available on the website. The presentation is included as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and incorporated by reference into this Item 7.01.
