Item 8.01 Other Matters.
On July 16 , 2010, Trident Microsystems, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it has consented to a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) regarding the previously-disclosed SEC investigation into the Company’s historical stock option practices and related accounting. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report and is incorporated herein by reference.
