On May 4, 2010, Pharmasset, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the development of RG7128, a product candidate that the company is developing for the treatment of hepatitis C virus in collaboration with Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. and F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., is on track and that no safety or other concerns have delayed the program. The press release was issued in response to certain inaccuracies in an article published by PharmaWire on May 3, 2010 about the development of RG7128. The full text of the press release issued in connection with the announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference into this Current Report on Form 8-K.
