On March 10, 2010, WaferGen
Bio-systems, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing eight new
early-access customers and shipment of its first international SmartChip System
following CE certification. A copy of the press release issued by the
Company is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1
