Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition
On March 12, 2010, Greer Bancshares Incorporated, the parent company of Greer State Bank, issued a press release announcing its financial results for the period ended December 31, 2009. A copy of the press release is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
Item 8.01. Other Events
On December 17, 2009, the Board of Directors (the "Board") of the Greer Bancshares Incorporated (the "Company") scheduled the 2010 Annual Meeting of Stockholders (the "Annual Meeting") to be held on May 13, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time at the West Poinsett Street office of Greer State Bank at 1111 W. Poinsett Street, Greer, South Carolina 29650. The Board also set March 19, 2010 as the record date for determining the stockholders of the Company entitled to notice of and to vote at the Annual Meeting.
