On December 9, 2009, Ashford Hospitality Trust, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release
announcing the appointment of a receiver for its Hyatt Regency Dearborn property and the
deconsolidation of the hotel asset and the associated mortgage indebtedness. The press release is
attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
