Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers.
(b) (c) On December 4, 2009, Ross Stores, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing officer promotions, including the following executive officers: Barbara Rentler, to the position of President and Chief Merchandising Officer of Ross Dress for Less; Michael B. O’Sullivan, to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer; and James S. Fassio, to the position of President and Chief Development Officer. Ms. Rentler and Messrs. O’Sullivan and Fassio will continue to report to Michael Balmuth, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, who will discontinue using the title of “President” in connection with these promotions. The full text of the Company’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
